Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region will re-equip 12 enlarged centers of the Unified Air Traffic Management System (EU ATM) and three special centers in Kaliningrad, Kamchatka and Crimea in 2022. This was reported on Thursday in the press service of the concern.
"As part of the implementation of the EU ATM modernization program of Russia, by the end of 2022, 12 enlarged centers of the unified air traffic management system and three special centers will be re-equipped in Kaliningrad, Kamchatka and Crimea," the press service said.
The holding noted that within the framework of import substitution, the re-equipment of the enlarged center in Rostov-on-Don with a modern Russian-made ATM system is at the final stage.
"The concern supplied equipment and performed work in the interests of the Russian air navigation system in the amount of about 100 billion rubles. With the commissioning of the St. Petersburg enlarged center, we have completed the work on the enlargement of the EU ATM centers of Russia," the press service quoted the words of the head of the holding Yan Novikov.
The newest center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System, necessary for safe air navigation, was put into operation in St. Petersburg on the night of January 26-27. With the launch of this regional center in Russia, the formation of an updated air navigation system in the airspace of the Russian Federation has been completed.
15 regional centers have been built and modernized in the country over the past 11 years to improve the quality of air navigation in the airspace and optimize its costs. In total, as part of the creation of the updated system, 104 regional air traffic management centers operating in Russia were replaced by 15 enlarged EU ATM regional centers.
