TSAMTO, January 27. The last few years have been characterized by increased rates of deliveries of special equipment for the engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces.
This is due to the completion of the development of modern samples that are supplied to the rearmament missile units. To increase the maneuverability and survivability of mobile-based combat missile systems, a remote mine clearance machine (MDR) "Foliage" and an engineering support and camouflage machine (MIOM) have been created.
Since 2015, the RVSN units have been equipped with modern samples of track-laying machines on a wheeled chassis, since the routes of the PGRK regiments pass not only in forests, but also along roads with asphalt pavement, along which the movement of tracked vehicles was not possible. In cooperation with industrial enterprises, a wheeled road vehicle (KDM) was developed, adopted and put into mass production. The RVSN units received 15 units of KDM.
In recent years, more than 600 units of modern engineering equipment have been delivered to the engineering units of the RVSN formations: engineering barrier machines, heavy mechanized bridges, excavators, automobile cranes, wheeled road vehicles designed specifically for the RVSN, and other means of engineering weapons.
In the period from 2019 to 2021, the RVSN connections were completely updated with modern automobile cranes. The supply of modern samples of engineering weapons to the troops continues. In 2022, it is planned to supply SKO-10K integrated water treatment plants, EOV-3523 (3521M) excavators, engineering barrier machines.
The engineering units of the RVSN are designed to perform the entire complex of tasks of engineering support for combat duty of formations and military units of the RVSN, related to the engineering preparation of combat patrol routes, field positions, strengthening the protection and defense of RVSN facilities with the use of engineering barriers, fortification equipment of field positions and areas of troops, demining of terrain and objects, making passes in mine-explosive barriers, masking units in field positions, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
