Defense Express: tests of the serial launcher of the Neptune complex have started
Tests of the serial launcher of the RK-360MC "Neptune" coastal missile system (DBK) have started in Ukraine. Testing of the main systems of the installation is carried out by specialists of the State Kiev Design Bureau (GKKB) "Luch" and the corporation "Ukrinmash". This is reported by Defense Express.
The USPU-360 launcher from the RK-360MC "Neptune" complex has entered sea trials. The car is built on the Czech Tatra T815 chassis with an 8x8 wheel formula. During the tests, the specialists checked the operation of the hydraulics of the machine and outriggers in winter conditions.
The publication notes that the contract for the supply of the first division of the Neptune complex was concluded in 2020. The division includes 19 vehicles, which are planned to be transferred to the military in the first quarter of 2022. Serial machines of the complex, which was tested on the KrAZ chassis, are built on the Tatra chassis.
In September, Ukroboronprom announced an increase in the ammunition capacity of the Neptune complex. The company "Spetsoboronmash" has mastered a new technology for the formation of explosive charges, which increases the damaging effect of ammunition.
In August, the Mineral-U over-the-horizon radar station (radar) from the Neptune complex was shown on video. The radar is built on a Czech chassis.
