MOSCOW, January 25. /tass/. The Soyuz MS-21 manned spacecraft, which is scheduled to launch on March 18, will be named Korolev. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, distributed on Tuesday.
"The Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft itself, on which the cosmonauts will travel, will receive its own name - Korolev - in honor of the chief designer of rocket and space technology Sergey Korolev, a graduate of Moscow State Technical University, under whose leadership the family of manned Soyuz spacecraft was launched in the Special Design Bureau No. 1 (now Rocket and Space Corporation Energia)," the message says.
According to the state corporation, the launch itself will be called the "Bauman Launch", since three graduates of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University - cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveev and Sergey Korsakov will be on board. Also, the university's coat of arms will be placed on the third stage of the launch vehicle.
