Moscow. January 25. INTERFAX - Ships of the Baltic Fleet performed artillery firing as part of a major exercise involving 20 ships and naval aviation, the press service of the Baltic Fleet reported.
"As part of the planned exercise of the Baltic Fleet in the ranges located in the Baltic Sea, the crews of the ships successfully carried out artillery firing at targets simulating the means of an air attack of a simulated enemy," the press service said.
According to the fleet headquarters, the firing was carried out by the crews of the small rocket ships "Mytishchi", "Odintsovo" and "Green Dol". Lighting artillery shells delivered from the 152-mm divisional self-propelled howitzer "Acacia" from Cape "Taran" in the Kaliningrad region were used as targets.
"Combat exercises were carried out at various altitudes and distances using AK-176 and AK-630 naval artillery installations. As a result of the shooting, all the targets were successfully hit," the press service said.
"During the period of artillery firing, all norms and safety requirements were strictly observed. Their support during combat exercises was carried out by surface ships and support vessels of the Baltic Fleet," the BF headquarters stressed.
On January 24, the press service of the Baltic Fleet reported that about 20 warships, boats and support vessels went to sea for exercises. They also involve aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation
"At sea, the ships of the Baltic Fleet, united in several tactical groups, will perform tasks for their intended purpose - anti-submarine, anti-aircraft defense and mine support units with the implementation of practical combat exercises," the Baltic Fleet said.
