A large detachment of warships of the Baltic Fleet left the naval base in Baltiysk and went to scheduled exercises in designated areas of the sea.
According to the Baltic Fleet information support department of the press service of the Western Military District, minesweepers and small anti-submarine ships, small missile ships and missile boats are involved in combat training activities - a total of twenty units. The ships will unite into several tactical groups and will conduct practical combat exercises on anti-submarine, anti-aircraft defense and mine support units.
The ships' departure began with a mine search exercise conducted by the Baltic Fleet trawling group. The crews of the base minesweepers "Alexander Obukhov", "Leonid Sobolev" and "Novocheboksarsk" set contact and non-contact trawls, conducted detachments of ships behind the trawls and ensured the forcing of the minefield set by the conditional enemy. Then, during the joint search and minesweeping in a given square, the minesweepers discovered and destroyed the delivered training anchor and bottom mines.
