Izvestia: Russia will strengthen the border with Ukraine with the help of the Tornado-G MLRS
Russia will strengthen its southern border with Ukraine with rocket robots - automated multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Tornado-G". This is reported by Izvestia, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Units of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army are being re-equipped with Tornado-G.
"Having received the coordinates of the target, the control system of the system in real time independently conducts all the calculations necessary for firing, deploys the launcher and, at the command of the commander, delivers a fire strike," the publication says.
It is also noted there that this MLRS is capable of hitting several targets simultaneously with the help of guided and unguided missiles and ammunition with planning warheads.
According to military expert Alex Khlopotov, the Tornado-G is replacing the Grad, from which it differs in increased accuracy and mobility.
In January, the commander of the Central Military District (CVO), Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, said that the units of the district will receive new Tornado-S MLRS for the first time in 2022.
