TSAMTO, January 24. The helicopter regiment of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Western Military District (ZVO), based in the Smolensk region, will receive two new multi-purpose Mi-8AMTSh-VN helicopters in 2022.
The Mi-8AMTSh-VN is a modern modification of a multi-purpose helicopter of army aviation, which implements new engineering solutions that increase the combat capabilities and survivability of the aircraft. The new version of the helicopter is equipped with the President-S defense system. The maximum take-off weight of the machine increased to 13.5 tons, and the flight speed increased to 280 km / h.
The vehicle's weapon systems were also changed. The helicopter is equipped with a new observation-sighting system, which makes it possible to use the entire complex of existing weapons more effectively. In addition, the booking of the cabin, the transport department, as well as the most important units of the helicopter has been strengthened, the press service of the Western Military District reports.
