The vehicles will strengthen the combat power of the brigade in the Urals
Ekaterinburg. January 24. INTERFAX - The troops of the Central Military District (CVO) will receive Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters for the first time in 2022, the commander of the CVO troops Alexander Lapin told reporters.
"By the end of the year, to strengthen the combat power of the army aviation brigade stationed in the regions of the Urals, we plan to receive a squadron of new Ka-52 attack helicopters. This will be the first unit in the military district to have this type of modern helicopters in service," Lapin said.
The Ka-52 Alligator combat reconnaissance and attack helicopter has been serially produced for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation since 2010 by the Arseniev Aviation Company (AAC) Progress named after Sazykin of the Russian Helicopters Holding (part of Rostec). It is armed with guided missiles "Ataka" and "Whirlwind-1", unguided missiles S-8, missile complex "Sagittarius" and a 30-mm aviation cannon, the total combat load is 2 tons.
The Ka-52 is also equipped with devices for reducing visibility, an electronic protection system and means of active counteraction. The arrangement of the screws allows him to quickly maneuver in a limited space to occupy a favorable attacking position.
In addition, the Ka-52 has automated systems for easier piloting, high crew security, and is also convenient to maintain on the ground.
The Ka-52 is designed to destroy tanks, armored and unarmored military equipment, manpower, helicopters and other enemy aircraft at the forefront and in tactical depth, in all weather conditions and at any time of the day.
