In the Stavropol Territory, during exercises at the Nikolo-Alexandrovsky training ground, tankers of the 49th Army of the Southern Military District destroyed moving armored vehicles as targets. The uniqueness of the shooting was also in the fact that they were carried out at a long distance: the targets - a column of armored vehicles, which were fired at by tanks - were at a distance of up to three kilometers, the press service of the Southern Military District reported.
The exercises were held with the use of T-72 tanks in the B3M modification. The video shows how the crews of combat vehicles fire from all types of weapons during one of the races (laps). The tasks of the tankers included hitting targets in various ways: on the move, from the spot, with gentle stops, from shelters and with maneuvering to a reserve position at night.
This year, the crews of the T-72 increased the range of shooting at targets - it was necessary to get from a distance of 2.5 to 3 kilometers. At the same time, smoke and training mines were used at the landfill.
All this created conditions close to combat. And disabled armored vehicles were used as targets.
- In total, more than 30 tanks of units stationed in the Stavropol Territory and about 100 soldiers and officers were involved during tactical firing, - said Colonel Vadim Astafyev, head of the press service of the Southern Military District.
In the winter of this year, the Southern Military District plans to hold 20 more live firing and about 60 firing training sessions, as well as 15 tactical exercises at the training grounds.
During this time, the tankers will spend about 11 thousand different ammunition and over five thousand liters of fuel.
