The cosmonaut noted that he had carried out a test fitting of the spacesuit before the flight
MOSCOW, January 21. /tass/. Cosmonaut Sergei Korsakov, who is due to go to the ISS with colleagues Oleg Artemyev and Denis Matveev on March 18, said that he considers the Russian Falcon spacesuit more reliable than the spacesuit of the American company SpaceX.
"Frankly, you feel much more confident and reliable in the Falcon than in a SpaceX spacesuit. And I like his classic old-school look, although, undoubtedly, Elon Musk made a really stylish space suit," Korsakov wrote on his Instagram page.
The cosmonaut noted that he had carried out a test fitting of the spacesuit before the flight. "This particular spacesuit has already been tested by me more than once and even flew twice to launch a rocket to Baikonur - the first time he wanted to fly as part of the Soyuz MS-18 crew, and the second time he secured Yulia Peresild's spacesuit. But, fortunately, everything went well with the film crew," he said.
According to Korsakov, the next time he will see his spacesuit at Baikonur a couple of weeks before the launch, where he will test his work in the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft.
Now, in manned flights, cosmonauts use the Sokol-KV2 spacesuit to ensure the vital activity and efficiency of the crew members of the spacecraft in case of depressurization of the spacecraft. It is manufactured at the NPP Zvezda individually for each cosmonaut.
In March last year, Pavel Vlasov, who at that time held the position of head of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, told Komsomolskaya Pravda radio in an interview that Korsakov was one of the first applicants who could fly on the American Crew Dragon ship. According to him, he passed the necessary measures necessary for the manufacture of space equipment. Now the first contender for a Crew Dragon flight is cosmonaut Anna Kikina.
