Daily Sabah: the Turkish military was handed over the upgraded anti-aircraft complex HISAR O+
Turkish air defense units have received an upgraded HISAR O+ short-range anti-aircraft system. The new Turkish-designed air defense system can intercept targets at a range of up to 25 kilometers, Daily Sabah reports .
The HISAR O+ system was developed by specialists of the Turkish companies Aselsan and Roketsan. The anti-aircraft complex is designed to protect important facilities from attacks by fighters, helicopters, drones and cruise missiles.
The radar system provides a 360-degree view. HISAR O+ can simultaneously fire at up to nine targets. The firing range of the new complex is 25 kilometers.
In December, the publication of the Sabah newspaper evaluated Turkish anti-aircraft systems. The new complexes will bring Turkey closer to the development of the SIPER system, which will replace the Russian S-400 Triumph and the American Patriot.
In October, the head of the Turkish Defense Industry Department, Ismail Demir, said that Turkey had developed HISAR A+ and HISAR O+ anti-aircraft systems with a range of up to 20 kilometers. After that, a system with a range of up to 100 kilometers will be developed.
