The infrastructure support of the grouping of Russian forces and means of nuclear deterrence in 2021 has been fully implemented, in particular, they have prepared everything necessary for the entry into combat duty of the strategic missile complexes Yars and Avangard in the Kaluga and Orenburg regions, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov said on Thursday.
"Thus, the infrastructure has been prepared for putting on combat duty four mine launchers of the strategic missile complexes Yars and Avangard in the Kaluga and Orenburg regions," Ivanov reported to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during a single day of acceptance of military products.
"In terms of the Yars mobile ground-based missile systems, a set of measures was carried out at permanent deployment points in the Novosibirsk Region and the Republic of Mari El to prepare the necessary infrastructure for two missile regiments," Ivanov said.
He also reported that in the interests of the Space Forces, as part of the deployment of the Unified Space System, the construction of the second stage of the Western Modernized Command Post was completed for its transfer to trial operation. At the same time, the construction of two energy facilities at the Plesetsk cosmodrome for the preparation and launch of Angara - A5 space rockets was completed, the deputy minister reported.
Speaking about the development of the infrastructure of the airfield network of the armed forces, he said that in 2021 construction work was carried out at 16 airfields. "166 facilities have been built at the airfields of Yeisk, Chkalovsky, Belbek, Khmeimim, Steppe, Korenovsk, Engels, Chkalovsk, Savasleika, Kubinka, Baltimore, Pushkin, Lipetsk, Tiksi, Nagurskoye," Ivanov said.
