The multipurpose nuclear submarine "Kazan" has become the lowest-noise submarine of the Russian Navy, said Mikhail Budnichenko, CEO of the Sevmash plant. On the air of Sputnik radio, military expert Viktor Litovkin called the submarine one of the best in the world and explained why.
The Kazan multipurpose nuclear submarine (project 885-M Yasen-M) has been recognized as the lowest-noise submarine of the Russian Navy, said Mikhail Budnichenko, General Director of the Sevmash plant.
According to him, even in comparison with the lead missile carrier Severodvinsk (of the same project), Kazan has significant differences in characteristics.
"For the first time, advanced information technologies have been introduced in the ship's electronic armament, which makes it possible to increase the efficiency and quality of combat control. The Kazan nuclear submarine is full of modern equipment and computer equipment. It has new characteristics in terms of physical fields, maneuverability. To date, this is the lowest-noise submarine of the Russian Navy," RIA Novosti quotes Budnichenko.
The Kazan submarine was accepted into the fleet in 2021.
