- "Kazan" has new characteristics in terms of physical fields, maneuverability. Today it is the lowest-noise submarine of the Russian Navy. The Kazan submarine is a huge step into the future, a cruiser of the XXI century," Mikhail Budnichenko, General director of Sevmash, which built the submarine, said in an interview with the Plant corporate magazine.
He recalled that "Kazan" significantly differs in characteristics from the lead submarine of the "Ash" type. The Yasen-M project has implemented a new direction - the intellectualization of combat operations. For the first time, advanced information technologies have been introduced as in the electronic armament of a cruiser - this increases the efficiency and quality of combat control.
In 2022, Sevmash plans to transfer two more nuclear submarines to the fleet: the strategic missile carrier Prince Oleg and the multipurpose nuclear submarine Novosibirsk.
- At the final stage - the Belgorod nuclear submarine. We are preparing the nuclear submarine Generalissimo Suvorov to leave the boathouse. There are two lines of ships of the Borey-A and Yasen-M projects on the stocks, as well as the Khabarovsk submarine," Budnichenko said. Recall that Belgorod and Khabarovsk are being built under a special project as carriers of Poseidon underwater drones.
