Rostov-on-Don. January 19. INTERFAX-SOUTH - A flight of Ka-52 helicopters that arrived at the end of last year completed the formation of an Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopter squadron of the army aviation unit of the Southern Military District, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
"The crews of the new Ka-52 Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopters, which entered the army aviation regiment of the Southern Military District in the Rostov region, have completed a flyby of aviation equipment," the report says.
It is noted that the helicopters in disassembled form were transported by IL-76 military transport aircraft from the manufacturer's territory in disassembled form to a military airfield, where they were finally assembled. The assembly of the equipment was carried out by the specialists of the manufacturer.
Pilots who do not have experience in operating Ka-52 helicopters will be trained at the Center for Combat Training and Retraining of Flight Personnel of the Army Aviation of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
The Ka-52 Alligator is an upgraded version of the Ka-50 Black Shark. According to experts, it has better aerodynamic characteristics and is less visible to radars. Its speed and maneuverability capabilities have increased. More advanced electronic equipment is installed on board the combat vehicle. The control is designed for two pilots, which increases the efficiency of maneuvering and combat use of the Alligator.
The Ka-52 is designed for the fire destruction of armored vehicles, manpower and enemy helicopters at the forefront and in tactical depth, in all weather conditions and at any time of the day.
