TSAMTO, January 18. A new Hephaestus training complex has been commissioned at the S.O.Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School, designed to train naval specialists in the fight for the survivability of a surface ship and a submarine in emergency situations.
The complex was obtained according to the plan of equipping the educational institution with a modern educational and material base.
During the development of the complex, the first training of cadets of the school was conducted, who in practice consolidated theoretical knowledge of the struggle for the survivability of the ship. Emergency situations with the intake of seawater and with a fire in various compartments of the ship were worked out.
The Hephaestus training complex is made of 12 40-foot containers and allows you to simultaneously train several training groups. The uniqueness of the complex lies in the fact that it simulates a variety of possible emergency situations, as close as possible to the real situation that the crew of the ship may encounter. The complex is provided with water and carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems, a hole simulator and other systems. The modules simulate a cabin, galley, engine room, open deck and cargo hold. The most difficult of them are the "smoke maze" and the "foam compartment".
Classes are conducted under the supervision of trained instructors, and the actions of the trainees are accompanied by video for further analysis of the actions of the sailors, the press service of the Eastern Military District reports.
