A video of the destruction of the Mi-17 military transport helicopter of the Afghan Air Force in Wardak province has appeared on the Network. The description of the video says that it was filmed in March 2021. The moment of hitting an anti-tank guided missile launched by the militia of field commander Abdul Ghani Alipura is captured.
At the beginning of last year, Alipur's detachments captured two northern Wardak counties. Apparently, the destruction of the helicopter of the government forces occurred at the same time. The missile hit cut off the Mi-17 tail. Rotating around its own axis, the helicopter began a disorderly fall and fell on a mountain slope.
The Mi-17 (Mi-171) is a Russian-made multipurpose helicopter, a modern version of the Mi-8. It has been mass-produced since 1992 and is operated in almost 40 countries around the world.
