Moscow. January 17th. INTERFAX - More than 30 combat helicopters Ka-52 "Alligator", Mi-28 "Night Hunter" and Mi-8AMTSh "Terminator" performed missile launches and firing from air cannons during the exercise in the Kuban, said the head of the press service of the Southern Military District (SE) Vadim Astafyev.
"In Kuban, the helicopter regiment of the army aviation of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District completed a tactical flight exercise with the use of more than 30 combat helicopters. (...) During the training, the pilots carried out about 40 planned sorties, made about 100 launches of unguided missiles and about 600 shots from aircraft guns," Astafyev said.
According to him, the crews of the Ka-52 "Alligator" and Mi-28 "Night Hunter" helicopters have worked out combat support and fire support of the Mi-8AMTSh "Terminator" helicopters performing conditional landing of personnel.
"During the exercise, the crews made single and group flights with the development of actions for reconnaissance and cover of strategic objects. The flights were carried out both during the day and at night," the head of the press service said.
In addition, the crews of Ka-52 helicopters as part of the aviation link worked out elements of complex aerobatics, conducting air combat at low altitudes, and also performed the exercise "flight along the route to a given area," Astafyev noted.
