A swarm of drones
In the near future, the Pentagon will have technology at its disposal, with the help of which only one operator will be able to control a swarm of 130 drones.
The project participants are the military contractor Raytheon and the DARPA agency. The company reported on the successful testing of the technology in various urban conditions: in open areas and in closed facilities. The technology is called OFFensive Swarm-Enabled Tactics (OFFSET). Thanks to it, the operator will be able to direct the actions of 130 drones at the same time. According to the developers from Raytheon, the available hardware and software will allow even an operator with minimal training to do this work. The swarm of drones is controlled using a VR interface that allows you to visually control each drone individually. Another OFFSET option is the speech interface, which makes it possible to give commands to the operating UAV by voice.
