Kurganmashzavod continues to implement the state armament program until 2027
MOSCOW, January 14. /tass/. State tests of the Octopus-SDM1 light floating tank for the Airborne Forces will be completed in the first quarter of 2022. This was reported to journalists on Friday in the Rostec state Corporation.
"In 2022, Kurganmashzavod plans to start production of a light floating tank "Octopus-SDM1" for Airborne troops. In the first quarter of this year, state tests of this unique combat vehicle will be completed," said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec arms cluster, whose words are referred to in the press service of the state corporation.
It is also reported that the Kurganmashzavod of Rostec's High-Precision Complexes holding has delivered the final batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles under a two-year contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The new equipment will replenish the technical park of all military districts of Russia.
"At the moment, the company continues to develop, aimed at strengthening the tactical and technical characteristics of these machines. In particular, Kurganmashzavod specialists are working to increase their survivability on the battlefield, including by installing dynamic protection on the BMP-3," the report says.
The state Corporation noted that Kurganmashzavod continues to implement the state armament program until 2027, in accordance with which the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will be supplied with infantry fighting vehicles of the third generation BMP-3, armored recovery vehicles BRAM-L, amphibious vehicles - BMD-4M and BTR-MDM.
