Moscow. January 14th. INTERFAX - Kurganmashzavod delivered the final batch of infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3 under a two-year contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the press service of Rostec reported
"The new equipment will replenish the technical park of all military districts of Russia," the state corporation said on Friday.
They said that in parallel, Kurganmashzavod specialists are working to increase the survivability of these machines on the battlefield, including by installing dynamic protection on the BMP-3.
Kurganmashzavod is contracted for several years ahead. We are developing new combat vehicles and dual-purpose vehicles taking into account modern requirements. In 2022, Kurganmashzavod plans to begin production of a light floating tank "Octopus-SDM1" for Airborne troops," said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec arms cluster, whose words were quoted by the press service.
Ozdoev said that in the first quarter of 2022, the state tests of "Sprut-SDM1" will be completed.
