India launched an upgraded BrahMos missile from the Visakhapatnam destroyer
India has tested an improved sea-based cruise missile BrahMos. The missile was launched from the destroyer Visakhapatnam. This was announced by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of the Ministry of Defense of India on Twitter .
"An improved anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was launched today from the Visakhapatnam destroyer. The missile accurately hit the target," the message said.
In December, the Indian Defense Ministry announced the completion of tests of the BrahMos cruise missile from the Su-30MKI fighter. The test launch was carried out at the Chandipur test site in the state of Odisha.
In February, The Drive edition told about a promising rocket of the Russian Su-57 fighter. The publication suggested that the munition could be based on the design of the Russian-Indian BrahMos-II missile being created.
The BrahMos rocket was developed by specialists of the military industrial Complex "NPO Mashinostroeniya" and DRDO. The ammunition is produced at the joint Russian-Indian enterprise BrahMos Aerospace. There are variants of the rocket for sea, air and land carriers.
