During the year, the complex is serially delivered to the fleet ships, the interlocutor of TASS noted
MOSCOW, January 11. /tass/. The newest ship-based anti-submarine missile system "Response" has been adopted by the Russian Navy. This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.
"The Answer anti-submarine complex has been adopted by the Russian Navy. It has been mass-delivered to the fleet ships for a year," he said.
TASS has no official confirmation of this information.
Earlier, a source told TASS about the successful completion of state tests of the complex. The tests were conducted from 2019 on board the first serial frigate of the project 22350 "Admiral Kasatonov".
The "Answer" complex
On December 15, the Russian military department reported that the frigate of the Pacific Fleet "Marshal Shaposhnikov" in the Sea of Japan launched a missile of the "Response" complex, which successfully hit an underwater target.
The developer of the complex is the concern MPO Gidpropribor (part of the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation). According to open sources, the "Answer" consists of an anti-submarine guided missile, which is fired from 3S-14 universal launchers (also used for Kalibr, Onyx and Zircon cruise anti-ship missiles).
In the head of the missile "Response" is a small-sized homing anti-submarine torpedo. Having reached the target area, the rocket drops a torpedo into the water by parachute, which then continues its independent search for the enemy submarine using its sonar station. The maximum firing range of the missile complex in the variant for surface ships is 40 km.
A TASS source reported that work is underway to increase the range of the cruise missile complex - it can be at least doubled. It is planned that the "Answer" will be equipped with most of the surface ships of the Russian Navy, including the heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov.
