Moscow. January 11. INTERFAX - Specialists of the Military Construction Complex have completed a large-scale reconstruction of a unique museum complex with an underground harbor for submarines located in the Crimean Bay of Balaklava, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov said.
"Together with the Black Sea Fleet, we have completed a large-scale reconstruction of the world's only museum - an underground submarine base in the Crimean Balaklava," the deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry said in an interview published on Tuesday in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
"As a result: the atmosphere of an authentic anti-atomic underground base is complemented by modern multimedia technologies," Ivanov added.
According to him, now tourists will be able to see the submarine S-49 of the 633RV project there.
"I note that submarines were built in China and the DPRK on the basis of Project 633, so it will also be interesting for foreign tourists," said the Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation.
The Balaklava Underground Museum Complex (object 825 GTS or K-825) is a branch of the Military Historical Museum of Fortifications. It is located on a former underground submarine base in the Crimean bay of Balaklava. Object 825 GTS was a secret strategic military facility of the USSR during the Cold War.
