Lieutenant General Gostev said that the S-500 will be delivered to Russian troops by 2025
The S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMS) will be delivered to the troops of the Southern Military District until 2025. The military will also receive new planes and helicopters. This was announced by the commander of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District, Lieutenant General Nikolai Gostev, in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
"Until 2025, deliveries of Su-34, Su-30SM, Su-35S, Ka-52, Mi-8AMTSh-VN helicopters, S-500 Prometheus anti—aircraft missile systems are planned for the association," Gostev noted.
Also, the military continues to introduce new compounds that use anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes (ZRPC) "Pantsir". Lieutenant General Gostev stressed that the ZRPC has proven its effectiveness in the Middle East and other regions.
In December, the S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system was tested in the Arctic. The ZRS missile successfully hit a hypersonic target.
In November, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that a new S-550 anti-aircraft missile system would appear in Russia. The message noted that President Vladimir Putin noted the importance of supplying advanced systems to the troops.
