TSAMTO, January 10. More than 70 tests of new weapons, including hypersonic missile weapons "Zircon" and "Dagger", provided the Northern Fleet in 2021.
In the past year, the Northern Fleet paid special attention to ensuring the testing of samples of new and promising weapons, military and special equipment. The forces of the White Sea Naval Base, divisions of missile ships and aircraft of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Northern Fleet were involved in the direct support of the tests.
According to the press service of the Northern Fleet, after successfully conducted tests in the White and Barents Seas, the newest nuclear submarines "Prince Oleg" and "Novosibirsk" were accepted into the Russian Navy, the crews of which will continue to improve naval training and prepare for the transition to a permanent base in combat training ranges and at the training and material base of the Northern Fleet.
The crew of the lead frigate project 22350 "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" successfully conducted a complex of tests of the hypersonic cruise missile "Zircon", having completed a total of about 10 launches. The crew of the lead nuclear submarine of Project 885 Yasen Severodvinsk performed two test firings with Zircon.
