Moscow. January 8th. INTERFAX - In 2022, the development of anti-aircraft complexes "Derivation-air defense" and "Pantsir-SM-SV" should be completed, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.

"In 2022, in the interests of military air defense, it is planned to complete work on the creation of advanced weapons "Derivation-air defense", "Pantsir-SM-SV", "Typhoon-air defense"," the ministry's information department reported.

"A modification of the Pantsir-SM-SV anti-aircraft missile and cannon complex on a tracked chassis is being developed for the Ground Forces. The complex will have two types of anti-aircraft guided missiles and have an increased zone of destruction," the department added.

In addition, the development of the combat vehicle of the anti-aircraft gunners "Typhoon-Air Defense" is being completed.

The anti-aircraft missile system "Birdman" is also being developed. The complex is designed for actions directly on the front line. It uses two types of missiles with different guidance methods - homing by thermal radiation of the target and guided by a laser beam.

As Interfax reported, the Derivation-Air Defense combat vehicle, which was called a drone fighter, is also capable of fighting cruise and aviation missiles, aircraft and helicopters, single projectiles, ground and surface lightly armored targets. The ammunition includes five types of ammunition. The combat vehicle is capable of fighting mini- and micro-drones through the use of an innovative projectile with programmable detonation near the target. "Derivation" will replace the anti-aircraft self-propelled guns "Shilka".

Earlier, Interfax reported that in 2019 it is planned to begin state tests of the prospective air defense complex "Pantsir-SM-SV". It is known that he will receive a radar module with an active phased array.

As the head of the Air Defense of the Ground Forces Alexey Leonov reported in 2016, "Pantsir-SM-SV" is an interspecific complex for the ground forces, coastal troops and airborne forces. According to him, the new complex will have "significantly higher characteristics than the current "Shell"."

A source in the military-industrial complex also told Interfax that hypersonic missiles are being developed for the Pantsir, thanks to which the range of the complex will increase to 60 km.
