Moscow. December 8th. INTERFAX - The submarine missile cruiser of the Northern Fleet has worked out the creation of a polynya for surfacing in the ice with the help of torpedo firing, the press service of the Northern Fleet reported.
"In December, the crew of one of the strategic nuclear submarine missile cruisers practiced practical torpedo firing in order to create a polynya for surfacing in the Arctic ice," the press service reported.
As previously reported, such surfacing technologies were worked out, in particular, during the special integrated expedition of the Russian Navy "Umka". As part of the operation, the crews of three nuclear submarines of the Northern Fleet worked out a simultaneous ascent in the Arctic ice in the area of the northern islands of the Franz Josef Land archipelago.
