MOSCOW, January 5 - RIA Novosti. Almaz-Antey has completed the main part of the reorganization of the air traffic control system and has re-equipped most of the airports with new equipment, Pavel Sozinov, general designer of the concern, said.
"In the Russian Federation, in almost recent years ... we have completed the main part of the program for the reorganization of this system (air traffic control - ed.). Most of the airport zones have been completely re-equipped with new equipment," he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the transcript of the meeting is available on the Kremlin website.
According to Sozinov, for a period of a little more than 12 years, all electronic equipment in this area was replaced with domestic.
In addition, the general designer noted the concern's readiness to produce unmanned aerial vehicles and their air traffic control systems not only for the needs of the Russian Federation, but also for the nearest abroad. Sozinov also shared the success of the concern in the production of weather radars – according to him, over the past 8 years, about 200 radars have been delivered to the Russian Federation and a "decent number" have been sent abroad.
The Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region is one of the largest integrated associations of the Russian military-industrial complex, which includes more than 130 enterprises. The total number of employees of the holding is 140 thousand people. The concern's products are supplied to more than 50 countries around the world.
