The wheeled interspecific unified platform "Boomerang" can become the base for the creation of other military and special equipment. This was announced by the general director of the Military-Industrial Company Alexander Krasovitsky.
"It's not a problem. Even at the stage of protection of the technical project, it was meant to create a family of vehicles, including wheeled infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, armored recovery vehicles, a commander's car, and so on," he told the Interfax news agency. "The Boomerang platform is therefore called "unified" because it can and will be used to create wheeled combat and special vehicles of various purposes and equipment."
Krasovsky said that now the company is reaching the finish line as part of the Boomerang development work. According to him, a breakthrough of engineering thought is embedded in this platform. And this car is practically a robot. Therefore, the developments on it will be used in other new projects.
In addition, the "Boomerang" received the letter "O". "This means that interested agencies can use the platform to place weapons and military equipment on its base," Krasovitsky explained. Earlier, he had already said that the unified interspecific wheeled armored platform "Boomerang" allows you to mount on it a complex of weapons with a cannon like the one installed on the self-propelled installation 2S25 "Octopus-SD".
