The "Thunder" exercises of the three strategic nuclear forces of Russia will be held in early 2022
Strategic command and staff exercises "Thunder" with the participation of all three components of the strategic nuclear forces (SNF) of Russia will be held in early 2022. A source close to the Russian Defense Ministry told TASS about this.
"The Grom exercises with the participation of the Russian nuclear triad are scheduled for the beginning of 2022," the agency source said. At the same time, there was no official information from the department.
Earlier, the head of the country's Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, said that the share of modern weapons in Russia's nuclear triad has reached a historical record — 89.1 percent. According to Shoigu, simultaneously with the supply of new weapons to the Russian army, a modern infrastructure is being created in the country, which will be used by strategic nuclear forces.
In December, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, said that currently almost all launchers of the ground-based strategic nuclear forces of Russia - more than 95 percent - are in constant readiness for combat use.
