Russian Defense Ministry: 170 launches of Russian and foreign missiles were detected in 2021
In 2021, 170 launches of Russian and foreign ballistic missiles and space rockets were detected, they were recorded by the means of the Russian missile attack warning System (SPRN). This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The ministry recalled that with the help of the SPRN, it is possible to receive and issue trajectory data for warnings about missile attacks. In addition, they can be used to obtain the necessary information for Moscow's missile defense system and provide data on space objects in order to prevent missile strikes against the Russian Federation.
On December 24, a salvo launch of hypersonic Zircon missiles took place in Russia, which work on both sea and ground targets. The tests were carried out successfully. It is assumed that the delivery of missiles will begin in 2022.
