The Checkmate aircraft entered the list of the most anticipated novelties of Rosoboronexport
The promising single-engine Checkmate aircraft has become the most anticipated example of Russian weapons. Rosoboronexport has compiled a rating of weapons that were demonstrated to foreign customers. The first place was taken by the fifth-generation fighter Checkmate. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the company's press service.
According to the company's CEO Alexander Mikheev, the Orion-E UAV, the Tosochka heavy flamethrower system, the AK-19 submachine gun and the S-350E Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system are also among the most anticipated novelties. Mikheev noted that in 2021, the arms market has adapted to work in a pandemic. Rosoboronexport took part in 17 international exhibitions.
Earlier, the Checkmate aircraft was included in the list of the main aviation achievements of 2021, which was compiled by Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine. Also included in the list was the flight of an unmanned wingman and the first refueling performed by a drone.
In November, the Polish edition of Defence24 questioned the reality of the Su-75. The publication noted that the pandemic could interfere with the flight tests of the fighter.
A sample of a light tactical aircraft (LTS) Checkmate was presented during the MAKS-2021 aerospace salon. The head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Yuri Slyusar, noted that the plane will fly in 2023.
