19FortyFive named M1 Abrams, K2 Black Panther and Leopard 2 tanks the most powerful in the world
The list of the three most powerful tanks in the world, published by the American publication 19FortyFive, did not include Russian ones.
The publication tells about the American M1 Abrams, the South Korean K2 Black Panther and the German Leopard 2.
"The M1A2 Abrams, with all its upgrades, should be considered the best tank compared to the Leopard and Black Panther. Of course, as an American publication, we can be biased. But no other tank has been so tested in combat as the formidable Abrams," writes 19FortyFive.
The publication notes that the K2 Black Panther is distinguished by the presence of an intelligent ammunition KSTAM-II, launched from the main cannon of the projectile and capable of hitting enemy equipment from above. A feature of the Leopard 2 is the presence of a powerful diesel engine and an armor-piercing projectile with a thermal imaging sight.
The publication admits that by offering such a list, it leaves "room for controversy."
In December, RIA Novosti with reference to the press secretary of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Valery Reshetnikov was informed that Russia had offered India the development of a new tank based on the Armata universal tracked platform.
