In the Western Military District, the share of modern weapons exceeded 72%

TSAMTO, December 29. In 2021, the troops of the Western Military District (ZVO) received 1,4 thousand units of modern weapons and military equipment.

Thus, the share of modern samples of all types of weapons and military equipment for land, sea and aviation components has been brought to 72%, and for some samples – up to 100%.

Communications units, the Army of the Air Force and air Defense, as well as special purpose units are equipped with the most modern equipment in the district's troops. In them, the share of the latest and modern weapons has approached 100%.

Among the main types of weapons and military equipment received in 2021: T-80BVM, T-72B3M, BTR-82AM tanks, Msta-SM2 self-propelled artillery units, RCB protection equipment, armored multipurpose vehicles, as well as radio and satellite communication complexes, the press service of the Western Military District reports.
