Moscow. December 28. INTERFAX - Russian military doctors managed to maintain a "doc-like" level of routine care for patients with other diseases in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Of course, I cannot but say a word of gratitude to our doctors who are engaged in the fight against the pandemic. In addition, without reducing the pace and volume of their main tasks for other diseases," Shoigu said at a conference call on Tuesday.
He noted that in the Russian regions, many doctors "had to reduce the provision of planned care, reduce the number of planned operations."
"In our Armed Forces, thanks to the efforts that have been made - this is the work on vaccination, and the organization of treatment for coronavirus itself - we were able not only to fulfill all planned indicators, to lower the incidence rate in the Armed Forces, but also to provide assistance to the civilian population," Shoigu said.
