Bilateral exercises of the communications and electronic warfare units of the Black Sea Fleet took place on the Crimean Peninsula, involving more than 500 military personnel and 50 units of weapons and military equipment.
According to Alexey Rulev, head of the Information support Department of the Black Sea Fleet, signalmen deployed a broadband wireless access network in the field, organized stable communication channels between units and the command. Electronic warfare specialists, in order to disrupt the negotiations, conducted radio reconnaissance and suppressed communication channels.
Signalmen switched to backup channels of wired, radio relay and satellite communications, transmitted urgent radiograms using encryption equipment in conditions of interference. The communication units of the Black Sea Fleet also prepared to participate in the qualifying stages of the army international games "ArMI-2022".
The exercises involved command and staff vehicles R-149MA1, digital communication systems, electronic warfare stations Krasukha and Borisoglebsk.
