The militants of the Taliban movement (recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) armed themselves with an unusual version of the BM-21 Grad. The launcher, which has forty guides, is installed on the American Navistar International 7000 MV.

In recent days, the situation on the Afghan-Pakistani border has become very complicated, where armed clashes have begun, during which the parties use various weapons, including multiple rocket launchers.
After the flight of the American contingent from Afghanistan, a large number of various heavy military equipment and vehicles manufactured by the United States remained here. However, not relying only on them, representatives of the new law enforcement agencies decided to revive the "Grad", which remained here after the withdrawal of parts of the Soviet limited contingent more than thirty years ago. Apparently, the MLRS has been in one of the landfills of equipment for a long time or was hidden by one of the militia formations.
The Ural-375D car, on the chassis of which, as a rule, the combat vehicles available here were carried out, could not be restored. Therefore, an overseas three-axle all-terrain vehicle was chosen as the platform. These military vehicles in the number of several thousand were specially ordered for the needs of the former national army and police. They were actively used for the transportation of personnel, machine guns could be installed on the roofs. Various tractors, tank trucks and other special vehicles were also made on these chassis.
Navistar International 7000 MV was also supplied to Iraq, where they similarly served as a base for various homemade rocket launchers, but such a truck was adapted for Grad only in Afghanistan.
