MOSCOW, Dec 27 - RIA Novosti. Rosatom has again fully fulfilled the state defense order in 2021, said Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the state corporation.
"This is a familiar phrase for us, but we must not forget that tens of thousands of people are behind it," said Likhachev, whose words are quoted in the official industry publication, the newspaper Strana Rosatom.
In recent years, Rosatom has been fully fulfilling the state defense order. This year, as well as a year ago, this was achieved against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rosatom, together with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and military units of nuclear support, guarantee the implementation of Russia's policy in the field of nuclear deterrence. The Rosatom nuclear weapons complex not only works to maintain the operability and modernization of previously created charges, but also ensures that charges with new qualitative characteristics are put on combat duty in conditions of nuclear-free tests. Rosatom fulfills the state defense order, also participating in the creation of non-nuclear weapons.
The creation of a new generation of weapons capable of ensuring a strategic balance in the world for decades to come has become one of the successes of the current generation of Russian nuclear scientists, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted earlier.
The share of modern weapons in Russia's nuclear triad has grown to a historical record and is 89.1%, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at an earlier expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense with the participation of the president.
The nuclear triad is a strategic force consisting of three components: strategic aviation, intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarines.
