TSAMTO, December 27. The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov addressed the faculty and students of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on industrial policy and the development of the defense industry.
"The military-industrial complex has been and remains the most high–tech sector, it is the shield of the Motherland, the main driver of the intellectualization of the economy and qualitative changes in key industries from mechanical engineering and electronics to medicine and fuel and energy," D. Manturov said in his speech.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade added that just as the army protects the country from military threats, the defense industry is aimed at ensuring technological independence. "This issue becomes especially acute in the conditions of sanctions and unfair actions on the part of foreign partners," D. Manturov stressed.
"Industrial policy is being built in such a way as, on the one hand, to continue the formation of a new generation army, investing additional investments in the development of the most modern weapons and equipment. On the other hand, the state gives enterprises the opportunity to make extensive use of market mechanisms to increase income and profit. This creates a synergistic effect for the further sustainable and dynamic development of the defense industry,"- quotes D.Manturova Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
