A new T-14 Armata tank is being put into mass production in Russia.
"Among the main, I would say powerful or breakthrough projects for the supply of the Ministry of Defense, we can mention our new T-14 tank, which everyone in the world is already talking about, we are launching it into mass production," Vladimir Artyakov, Deputy General Director of Rostec, said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
This year, state tests of a new ammunition for the tank also began. The tests are expected to be completed next year.
The T-14 is the first domestic tank prepared for operation in the framework of network-centric warfare. Fire control and other functions are automated, the crew is in an isolated armored capsule. The weight of the tank is about 55 tons. The maximum speed on the highway can reach 75-80 kilometers per hour, the power reserve is 500 kilometers.
