TASS, December 26. The large landing ships (BDK) of the Baltic Fleet "Minsk" and "Korolev" returned to the military harbor of Baltiysk after completing the tasks of a long-distance sea voyage, the press service of the fleet reported.
"The crews of large amphibious ships were on the campaign for 1.5 months, carrying the St. Andrew's flag across the Mediterranean, Black and North Seas, as well as the Atlantic Ocean. The ships have traveled over 10,000 nautical miles and made a call at the port of Tartus of the Syrian Arab Republic. The long-distance cruise of the ships took place in accordance with the combat training plan of the Russian Navy. One of the main tasks of the ships' campaign was the demonstration of the St. Andrew's flag. The crews of the ships performed dozens of combat training tasks, including air defense exercises, various ship exercises and training, artillery firing at sea and air targets," the report says.
The solemn meeting dedicated to the meeting of the ship was attended by representatives of the fleet command and the administration of Baltiysk, as well as relatives and friends of the sailors. The commander of the Baltic Fleet, Vice Admiral Viktor Liina, on behalf of the members of the Military Council of the Fleet, congratulated the commanders of the ships and crews on the successful completion of the tasks of long-distance navigation and wished new successes in combat training. The ships returned from a long voyage technically sound and ready to perform their intended tasks after replenishing the necessary supplies.
