BEIJING, December 26. /tass/. China launched a new Earth remote sensing satellite, Ziyuan-1 02E, into orbit on Sunday. The launch, Xinhua news agency reports, was carried out at 11:11 Beijing time (06:11 Moscow time) from the Taiyuan cosmodrome in Shanxi Province (Northern China) using the Changzheng-4-xi carrier rocket ("Great Trek - 4").
The agency does not provide details of the launch and destination of the satellite, noting only that this is the 403rd launch using a launch vehicle of the Great Trek series.
It is known that this satellite, developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Technologies, is designed for stereoscopic mapping of the Earth's surface in high resolution.
