Dubai. December 25. INTERFAX - The military exercises conducted by Iran this week in the Persian Gulf were a warning to Israel, the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Hossein Salami said amid fears that Tel Aviv may be hatching plans to attack Iranian nuclear facilities.
"There was a very clear message in these exercises: serious, real... It was a warning to the authorities of the Zionist regime regarding threats, it should beware of its mistakes," Salami said on state television.
He added: "We will cut off their hands if they make a wrong move... The difference between real operations and military exercises is just a change in the angles of launching missiles."
During the exercises, launches of ballistic and cruise missiles were practiced, which Tehran considers as an important deterrent and a "force of retaliation" for the United States and other adversaries in the event of war. Iranian television showed the destruction by missiles of an object that looks similar to Israel's nuclear reactor in Dimona.
The Iranian Tasnim news agency reported that, "during the missile exercises, an attack on this most important center of the Zionist regime was successfully worked out."
Iran claims that its ballistic missiles have a range of 2,000 km and are capable of hitting targets in Israel and the United States.
