The exercises of the Central Military District were held in the Orenburg region at the Totsky training ground. According to the press service of the Central Military District, at these field events, the commanders of the T-72B3 main battle tanks mastered the skills of gunners.
This became possible thanks to the appearance of the "Double" system on the updated equipment, which allows switching the guidance and firing system from the gunner to the commander.
The training was attended by a battalion recently re-equipped with T-72B3, which are equipped not only with new sighting complexes, but also equipped with a "Double" system. It gives the commander the opportunity to work for his subordinate and fire from 125-millimeter cannons, NSVT and PKT machine guns.
- "There was no such function before. Only the gunner aimed and fired," said the commander of the tank battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Igor Ivanov.
