The crew of the multi-purpose corvette "Agile" project 20385, which was damaged due to a fire, will be redistributed to other ships. Also, due to the incident, part of the orders for the construction of ships from the Northern Shipyard is planned to be transferred to other Russian enterprises. The consequences of the fire on the "Agile" were revealed by TASS, citing a source close to the Ministry of Defense.
"The crew of this corvette has been preparing for service in Kamchatka for two months. The team of the corvette "Agile", formed from the sailors of the 114th brigade of the OVRA (protection of the water area - approx. "Tapes.ru") for the development of this ship, it will be disbanded and sent to serve on other units of a similar project," the source said.
According to the source, "in order to diversify risks, the issue of transferring in 2023 part of the orders for the construction of two frigates or corvettes to the Kaliningrad Yantar plant, which has the necessary capacities, and at the end of 2022 and berths, is being considered." The interlocutor noted that the Amur Shipbuilding Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur can receive an order for one corvette.
The fire on the "Agile" occurred on December 17 at the shipyard "Severnaya Verf". The fire area reached 800 square meters. The fire on the corvette "Agile" was assigned the highest fourth rank of complexity. The cause of the fire could be a violation of fire safety rules when performing work.
