Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec State Corporation) I sent a batch of upgraded armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-1M under the state defense order to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the plant.
"Armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-1M have been shipped to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which provide units armed with T-72, T-80 and T-90 tanks. They are designed to evacuate emergency tanks, including from the enemy's fire zone, to assembly points of damaged vehicles or to shelter. The vehicle is also used to assist crews in the repair and maintenance of tanks in the field," the UVZ reported.
The press service clarified that, unlike the previous BRAM-1, created on the basis of the T-72 tank, the BRAM-1M was developed on the basis of the T-90 tank and has a four-stroke multi-fuel diesel engine. It provides the BRAM-1M with a maximum speed on the highway of at least 60 km/h, and the power reserve, taking into account additional barrels, is 700 km. The lifting capacity of the hydraulic crane has also been increased - up to 20 tons instead of 12 tons. The BRAM-1M kit includes an electric welding machine, with which repair work is carried out in the field. The load capacity of the cargo platform is 1.5 tons.
The BRAM-1M is armed with an autonomous 12.7 mm open-type anti-aircraft machine gun, equipped with surveillance devices for conducting technical reconnaissance on the battlefield.
