As reported on December 21, 2021, LLC Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex (SSC Zvezda, Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsky Krai), the construction of a dry dock, one of the largest in the world, has been completed at SSC Zvezda. The commissioning works were successfully carried out. A unique hydraulic structure measuring 485 by 114 meters, with a depth of 14 meters gives unlimited opportunities for the construction of vessels of any size and complexity. The dry dock was put into operation three years earlier than the originally designated date.

Together with representatives of Rostechnadzor and Gosexpertiza, the specialists of the SSC "Arrival" checked the dry dock and equipment of the facility for the readiness of all mechanisms for operation. Earlier, in order to control the filtration of the hydraulic structure, work was carried out on filling the dry dock with water in the normal mode. The floating shutter of the batoport is wound up and installed on the workplace. It separates the dock chamber from the water area, the bottom of which is located below the water level. A technological gate has been delivered to the dock, which will allow dividing the dock area into separate independent compartments for the construction of several vessels at once. 4 tower cranes with a lifting capacity of 60 tons and a gantry crane "Goliath" with a lifting capacity of 1200 tons are installed.
The Zvezda shipbuilding complex is being created in the Far East by a consortium of investors led by Rosneft on behalf of President Vladimir Putin. At SSK Zvezda, the following have already been put into operation: a block of hull productions, paint chambers, an open heavy completion slipway with a fleet of unique cranes and an advanced ship transport system, a transport and transfer dock. The built workshops made it possible to start building ships without waiting for the completion of the shipyard construction.
