TSAMTO, December 22. Military personnel of the VVO tank unit stationed in the Republic of Buryatia are mastering new two-link tracked floating snowmobiles of high cross-country GAZ-3344-20 "Aleut".
Classes were held with the driver mechanics to study the tactical and technical characteristics, control features, as well as the device of the snowmobile.
Important elements of retraining of military personnel is the consolidation of knowledge on maintenance, repair and rules of safe operation of this equipment.
At the specialized training ground of the tank compound, classes were held on driving two-link tracked floating all-terrain vehicles "Aleut" on an impassable mountain-wooded highway with a snow cover thickness of about 50 cm.
In addition, the servicemen repelled the attack of a conditional enemy, who, according to the plan of a tactical special exercise, organized an ambush and suddenly attacked a column of new all-terrain vehicles.
The GAZ-3344-20 Aleut all-terrain vehicle is made according to a modular scheme: the front link is an energy module that can carry 5 people, including the driver, the rear link is a transformable passenger module with a capacity of 15 people, which can be easily converted into a sleeping, medical unit or command post, its payload is 2500 kg, the press service of the Eastern Military District reports.
